Dyeing & Pigments
Manganese is used as an oxidant in the printing and dyeing industry to prepare reduced brilliant green printing and dyeing pigments.
During the dyeing process, manganese, as an oxidant, can provide oxygen atoms to cause the dye to undergo an oxidation reaction, converting the organic dye into a water-insoluble colloid, thereby achieving the purpose of fixing the dyeing color and enhancing the dyeing speed.
Manganese is mainly used as a colorant in inorganic pigments, and is generally used for brown and black color.
Manganese mixed with different levels of hydration of iron oxide to make brown pigment. Manganese and iron oxides can be calcined into manganese iron black.
Most dye and pigment customers add the following manganese oxides in their manufacturing process:
End-Markets
l Electrolytic Manganese Dioxide
l Manganese Sulfate (MnSO4 battery Grade)
l Manganese Carbonate (MnCO3 battery Grade)
